Text messages are sent only to mobile numbers whose owner has actively opted in through our text message opt-in page, or by an explicit consent checkbox during account setup. Consent is never bundled with another action and is never pre-checked.

 

When you opt in, we store the date and time of consent, the IP address and browser user agent used to submit it, and the exact disclosure text you were shown. We keep this record for as long as you remain opted in and for four years afterward, so we can demonstrate consent if it is ever disputed.

We protect personal information with encryption in transit, encrypted credential storage, role-based access controls that limit what each user can see, multi-factor authentication for privileged accounts, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, but we review these controls regularly.

  • Account information. Name, email address, mobile phone number, real estate license number, brokerage affiliation, and profile photo. For agents this is provided by their brokerage at onboarding; for clients it is provided by their agent or by the client directly.
  • Transaction information. Property addresses, contract and closing dates, contract prices, transaction status, commission figures, and documents uploaded in connection with a transaction.
  • Communications. Messages exchanged between a client and their agent through the platform, and records of the emails and text messages we send you.
  • Consent records. When you opt in to text messages, we record the date and time, the IP address and browser used, and the exact consent language shown to you. See Section 5.
  • Technical information. IP address, browser type, device type, and pages viewed, collected through server logs and product analytics to keep the service secure and working correctly.

  • Manage real estate transactions, including tracking deadlines, required documents, and compliance obligations.

  • Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Independent Brokerage Alliance, our members, or the public.
